He graduated from Syracuse University in 1984. It was in Syracuse where he started his telecom profession in 1982 as the play-by-play host for the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League. Four years subsequent to moving on from Syracuse, he started broadcasting Boston Red Sox diversions on WSBK-TV in Boston with previous Red Sox catcher Bob Montgomery.
