Axel was born on October 1, 1979, in Champlin, Minnesota, the United States as Joseph Curtis Hennig. He is a third era proficient wrestler; his granddad Larry “The Ax” Hennig and his dad Curt Hennig were both expert wrestlers. His sister Amy is additionally an expert wrestler.
