In order to perceive reality, whenever Sherlock Holmes is on a crime scene, he manages to use all his senses to get to the right conclusion. Sherlock Homes being genius is excellent in questioning that helps him to organize his thinking and dive deep into reality. Sherlock Holmes was ranked 60th on The Guardian’s list of the 100 best TV shows of the 21st century until 2019,

True Detective

True Detective is a crime drama television series created by Nic Pizzolatto. Season 1 begins with the case of the murder investigation of Dora Lange whose naked body was discovered in 1995. It is said that was a prostitute and her body was stabbed multiple times unless she breathed her last. The series becomes extremely thrilling when the two detectives eventually come to the conclusion that victim Dora Lange was killed by a meth cook.This series received positive reviews from critics and all over the viewers of the world. It was cited as one of the strongest dramas of the 2014 television season.

Luther

Luther

Luther is a British true-crime drama television series. Actors like Idris Elba as DCI John Luther and Ruth Wilson as Alice Morgan are seen justifying their characters. It is written by Neil Cross. The first season is consists of six episodes which were on aired in May and June 2010. In this series, we see that the main protagonist, John Luther, a passionate detective, ends up befriending a psychopath and murderer. Lacking enough evidence, he could never arrest him, and even they solved various cases together. 

Mindhunter

Mindhunter it’s a crime thriller TV series. It is created by Joe Penhall, which has his roots on the true-crime book “Mindhunter”. The series revolves around FBI agents  Holt McCallany and agents Jonathan Groff and a psychologist Anna Torv. This psychologist operates in the unit of Science Behaviroal in FBI’s in Quantico Academy in Virgina. The FBI agents take interview imprisoned serial killers to understand how they think. This helps them to get the knowledge to solve ongoing cases. The first and second seasons were both highly acclaimed by critics.

Making a Murderer

Making a Murderer is an American true crime documentary web television series. It is created and directed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos. This series tells the story of Steven Avery, which is from Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. He did 18 years for the wrongful accuses as a sexual assault  and a murder attempted of Penny Beerntsen. Later, he was charged in 2005, and then convicted in 2007, for the murder of Teresa Halbach. The second season received positive reviews from critics, but some critics, somehow have described “Making a Murderer” as one-sided and emotionally manipulative.

Narcos

Narcos is a drama tv series by American production  by, Carlo Bernard, Doug Miro, andChris Brancato. It is filmed in Colombia. Season 1 and Season 2 are about the story of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar who is the producer and distributor cocaine and becomes a billionaire. The first season received very positive reviews from critics. Season 2 and season 3 even got better reviews from critics and audiences from all over the world.

To conclude, we can say that watching true crime series provides an opportunity to feel empathy and to feel relieved that we are not the victims. We can dive deep into the mind and behavior of people after watching so many such crime stories. The thriller, adventure, suspense, horror are the elements that keep the audience stick to such a crime series.
