After coming to Mumbai, Yadav joined the BARC colony in Chembur and received cricket lessons from former player Dilip Vengsarkar from 12. He graduated from the College of Arts, Commerce, and Science and received an MA Chidambaram Trophy for being the best cricket Under-22 in 2011.
