Kanye West donates a whopping $2 million to show his support towards the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. It was in one of the latest interviews of CNN with West’s secretary in which he mentioned this event. The $2 Million donations will include all the legal charges for Taylor’s and Arbery’s families. Along with that, the money will also cover a lot of the losses faced by black businessmen in all cities including Chicago.
The most amazing news is that Kanye West has taken the initiative to plan a proper 529 education plan. It will completely cover the tuition fees and other educational expenditures of Floyd’s 6-year old daughter Gianna. According to West, it is a way in which he wants to show his solidarity with the families of the victims. Plus, he also wants to show his support towards every black person who is in a crisis. On the other hand, several other celebrities from all around the world, especially the USA have joined hands. They are all showing support in the #blacklivesmatter movement. There is a unanimous appeal for the government to take steps against racism, political leadership, and police brutality.
Innocent lives lost in discrimination
While the family of George Floyd is organizing a memorial service. One the other hand, the three police officers arrested for the homicide of Floyd will be presented in court for the first round of trial on Thursday. Besides, the three white men arrested for shooting Ahmaud Arbery are also facing trial. Arbery was another black man who was shot on February 23, 2020. The poor man was just jogging outside Brunswick, GA. On the other hand, Breonna Taylor was an EMT who was shot brutally for about eight times. Three police officers had allegedly entered her apartment in Kentucky and shot her dead. There is an investigation that the FBI is carrying out in this case.
Joining hands in solidarity
Kanye West’s wife Kim Kardashian has also come forward in these tough times and lend her hand in support. She has decided to bear all the medical expenses of Shannyn Sharyse Nara, a young protestor. The woman was hit by a rubber bullet while she was protesting with the crowd. On the other hand, John Boyega has garnered so much praise and attention in this context too. He has recently utilized his platform to express his opinion about the unrest.
Boyega has initiated a conversation with everyone who wants to state their opinion. Besides, it is a great way to highlight the oppression that the black community is facing constantly. He has later addressed the crowd in London’s Hyde Park where people held a silent protest. Here, John Boyega expressed his heartfelt opinion in a very emotional speech. Power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have already donated 161,000 Pounds to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. They have also decided to train their three children not to repeat the mistakes of this generation.
