Jeanne Cooper was born on October 25, 1928, in Taft, California, the United States as Wilma Jeanne Cooper. She was the daughter of Albert Troy Cooper and Sildeth Evelyn Moore. Jeanne was the youngest of three siblings. The family lived in Kern County for several years, first in Taft and then moving to Bakersfield in 1942. Her mom died on August 21, 1944, and her dad passed on April 11, 1986.
