Billie Eilish Receives Permanent Restraining Order Against Obsessed Fan
The court grants a permanent restraining order to Billie Eilish against an obsessed fan. According to the American singer-songwriter, the person keeps showing up at her home, which can be a risk. According to the reports of the recent developments of the case, the court has granted her proper protection against the person. A superior court judge from the Los Angeles County finally signed on the bill declaring Billie’s temporary restraining order as permanent for the next three years now.
The order states that the obsessed man cannot attempt to contact Billie. He cannot even come within 100 yards of Eilish and her parents. It was in May 2020 that Billie Eilish had appealed for protection against a man named Prenell Rousseau who is allegedly scaring the singer and her family. The man is accused of visiting the family constantly without a mask and touching the doorbell or doorknob without wearing gloves. Such activities are scary, especially during the situation when people all over the world are falling ill due to the novel coronavirus.
Possibilities of amendment of the restraining order
The singer stays with her parents, and everyone is worried about the contamination after such activities by Rosseau. According to Eilish, what the man is doing is nothing less than harassment. It has taken away her family’s peace of mind. So, it was finally time to take a drastic step against this. The court has looked at this matter very seriously, therefore issuing the restraining order. As per the terms and conditions of the order, Prenell Rosseau is barred from harassing or assaulting the singer.
He should not try to come nearby to Eilish even at her workplaces. On the other hand, Billie, along with her full legal team had appealed for 5-year long protection. However, McPherson LLP only got an order for 3 years. The order can get an extension through amendments if the court feels the need for the same.
